Tara na sa Ligay's!

I promised myself not to be late to church this Saturday. However, the "lazy" gene got activated and before i know it, it's a quarter past 9! And so I hurriedly went to the bathroom and got a record-breaking 15-minute shower (because i usually spend an hour inside) and dressed up for church. Amidst all the cramming, the smell of Ate Ligay's cooking filled the air.

With a towel wrapped around my head and a comb in hand, I immediately went outside after hearing Master Chef Ate Ligay's "Cries from the Kitchen". What met me at the dining table was the most magnificent thing that could ever happen on a beautiful and lazy Saturday morning at the Maginhawa crib: RESTAURANT FOOD!

So what's the magic in this very special breakfast? It's the fact that it's ingredients were made from what was left of our pasta cravings this past week. Apparently, the leftover olive oil, cashew nuts, basil leaves and parmesan cheese were not at all wasted. Together with Ate Ligay's brilliant imagination and her amazing swish and flick of her magic wand, tadaaa... a very, very delicious poor man's version of the marga sauce which she named "The Morning After" pasta.

Wait, the official name is "Penne penne de sara-penne".

THANK YOU Ate Xiaui! Hail hail to the queen! :D

PS. Apology for the nickname but it was coined as such because of the ingredients from the previous cooking showdowns in our small little kitchen.
